Dame Judi Dench teams up with Bronte ancestor to help battle to save beauty spot from developers after Labour bid to build 1.5million UK homes.

Two female cultural icons from past and present are helping villagers in a race against time to save a beauty spot from the threat of developers.

Local residents want to turn the 20-acre site on the edge of Great Ouseburn, North Yorkshire, into a nature reserve and provide the village school with a playing field while saving the area rich in wildlife from potentially being turned into another housing development.

They have so far raised £60,000 but need to hit their £300,000 target by the end of the month to purchase the land and see off the threat of developers.
